Personal Statement
Throughout my life journey, I have embraced the role of an Social Worker, dedicating myself to the service of others long before I completed my formal education in 2020. My experiences have shaped me into a compassionate advocate, particularly for those facing adversity, and I have cultivated a diverse skill set that reflects my commitment to empowering individuals and communities.
My work has been deeply rooted in my passion for helping women and children, especially those affected by domestic violence and teenage pregnancy. As an Evangelist and a Woman of Faith, I have sought to provide not only spiritual guidance but also practical support to those in need. My involvement in youth ministries has allowed me to connect with young people all over the world, offering them mentorship and encouragement as they navigate the challenges of adolescence.
One of my unique specialties lies in my ability to engage youth through creative expression. I have utilized liturgical dancing, sign language, and African dance to foster a sense of belonging and identity among young people. These artistic forms of expression have provided a powerful outlet for self-discovery and healing, and I have witnessed the transformative impact they can have on individuals and communities.
My motivation to serve stems from a personal connection to the struggles faced by single mothers and women in crisis. I draw strength from my own children, who serve as my superpower and constant reminder of why I am committed to this work. Their resilience inspires me to advocate for those who may feel voiceless and to champion the causes that matter most to vulnerable populations.
While I often focus on my advocacy work, I possess a secret talent that connects me to my roots: singing. Passed down from my grandmother, this gift serves as a reminder of the power of music to uplift and heal. Although I don’t often share this talent, I understand its potential to create joy and foster community among those I serve.
In terms of self-care, I find rejuvenation in traveling and playing games. Exploring new places allows me to gain fresh perspectives and recharge my spirit, while playing games provides a fun and light-hearted escape from the challenges of everyday life. These activities remind me of the importance of balance and self-nurturing in sustaining my passion for helping others.
As I continue to grow and evolve in my journey, I remain steadfast in my dedication to uplifting those around me. With a unique blend of compassion, creativity, and resilience, I am committed to making a positive impact in the lives of women and children, ensuring that their voices are heard, and their spirits are nourished.
