Building Capacity for Clinicians of Color

A sayYes Buffalo and Dumas R.I.S.E. Providers Collaboration

The Clinicians of Color Cohort, led by Kelly Dumas, is a purposeful initiative launched in response to the May 14, 2022 tragedy. Its mission is to strengthen the presence, capacity, and accessibility of mental health clinicians of color in Buffalo, NY. Launched in January 2024, the program is a collaboration between Say Yes Buffalo and Dumas R.I.S.E. Providers. It offers clinicians comprehensive support through workshops, specialty training, state exam preparation, business startup resources, networking opportunities, and more. In return, participants commit to providing a limited number of counseling hours to the community as part of their involvement.
